The users need to be authenticated securely as part of the request for data from the cube. Users should be assigned to multiple security groups to simplify security management. The defined security groups are then assigned to the dimension members and measures to establish the security structure. The Media BI Analysis system reports will then only show to each user of the report the data values allowed in both the body and the filter lists. This results in one report on the portal being presented appropriately but with different data for every portal user based upon the security groups of which they are a member.
BIAnalytix is an advanced Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence system that supports defining security on the data cubes so that the BIAnalytix example reports can be used by all staff while only showing the appropriate secured subset of information.
