BIAnalytix Question: Staging table population

 Is the staging table always populated by the source system pushing data, or can the server pull data to the staging schema?

Answer:
Because OLEDB drivers exist for Oracle, DB2, Sybase etc, ETL can be written to directly read/pull the data from the source system relational database. However, for the sources where this is done, the availability of data (indicated by a data value) is always checked in that source system.
